I recently purchased a x100e from a retailer couple of days ago and just use the machine only at my office and then noticed that there was a cracked lcd screen.

I looked up my serial number on the device through Lenovos warranty site and it still has a limited warranty.

Will they be able to replace my screen through the warrenty?

    Thanks.

Not unless you have accidental damage protection..

I called Lenovo technical support and told them the story and they were happy to send me shipping box to inspect.

How are they going to inspect the machine in order to give me a replacement screen?

    Cracked LCD screen :(

They are going to decide if you were responsible. I assume it was fine when you bought it? So someone damaged it if it wasn't your doing. So I doubt the warranty would cover it.

Unless you have accidental warranty, don't send it in.

Wierd thing is that there is no signs that the laptop has been damaged just on the a crack on the screen. The system still looks brand new from the box. So even if they send me a depot box, I should just rather forget about it and purchase a screen off ebay?

    Thanks.

Well you could have lenovo fix it but it will probably cost a lot. I am not sure if you can upgrade to accidental protection anymore though. That usually has to be within 30 days.

Where did you buy the machine? If you bought it from a local retailer you could try talking to them. But again you don't know what happened to it?

    Screens don't just crack.
