I don't see many threads around here talking about this so here is one from my own experience![]()
I have a 2.5 year old T60, which I have been pretty pleased with. I started getting graphics/pixeling issues with the screen which would end up with a BSOD, also I could hear the fan going bad (loud buzzing sound) and the DVD drive had stopped working. So I called up Lenovo's warranty department and they sent out a return box (received next day, postage paid). I sent the Laptop out Monday and got it back Wednesday. Very impressive in my opinion.
I talked with two Phone techs over this issue, both were easy to talk to and caused no hassle. over all I was very pleased/impressed.
FYI I have become an advocate of 3 year warranties... would have cost around $550 for all the repairs, considering I paid about $100 for the warranty the thing was well worth it.

I find that the IBM service center staff that manages all the warranty/service call to be professional, but the depot warranty in Melbourne is one of the worst i have ever experienced. They can't even put back the palmrest on a T60 properly.

Yea i cant say as to the Melbourne facility... My computer got sent to the Memphis service center.

Nice to read this positive report about Lenovo service/warranty. But just to be clear: when you say you only spent $100, you mean you spent about $100/year for the warranty right, not $100 for the entire period? I assume there are not great warranty deals floating out there somehow.

It's about $100 for 3 year w/out accident protection.
A little over $200 for 3 year with accident protection.
At least it was when I (and the OP) got our warranties. -
sorry been out for a while... yea I spent $89 for my 3 year, depo repair without accidental (i don't bother with accidental since im pretty careful with my laptops) thats with the education discount. For some reason Lenovo seems to have much more reasonable prices on their warranties than most of the computer companies I have seen.

this is due to Lenovo taking slightly different views of how warranty plays a part of the laptop's overall service life, and how a well rounded warranty plan at reasonable cost, appeases the consumers to make further purchases of their products in the future.
