    Lenovo Shipping Upgrade?

    Hi,
    With the T61 delayed, has Lenovo offered those lucky enough to reach a sales rep a free upgrade to Express, 2 or 3 day shipping? I ordered mine to be shipped UPS standard ground and was thinking about calling next week to see if shipping could be upgraded at no cost.

    how delayed are you talking about? Some have been delayed 3+ (one claims 90+ days) weeks, so they have a case. If you have only waitied 1-2 weeks so far, then you still have another week to wait until you would have a case to complain about.

    When I reach 30+ days I am going to ask for overnight........until then, I am sticking to what I paid......for now.

    I was able to get through the Support call yesterday. The rep told me that they still are having issues with the shipping date on the Order Status Page. On my order it shows (08/31). I asked the rep if she can find out the correct date if the one that is being displayed is wrong. She came back with the response that my T61 will be shipping on 06/12.
    The order page still shows 08/31. I will wait till 06/12 and call back again if there is no change to the order status.

    To add another complication, just because Lenovo sends it "express" doesn't mean it will arrive any faster. My T60 was shipped last month via 2-day but took more than a week to get to me because of being held up in customs (in Kentucky) UPS claimed that U.S. customs is implementing a new inspection policy that is delaying many, many overseas shipments irrespective of the type of shipping.

    Very true, Customs can really suck no matter how it comes into the country.

    I have had stuff delayed coming international through customs from UPS, USPS, Fedex, DHL, etc.

    I guess I don't care about the custom inspection delay.....but once it is in, I want the fastest possible shipping option.....if it is delayed past late June.

    If mine takes over a month to ship, they can send it to me via next-hour-uber-whatever. It's coming right back at them for the $$ I paid for it, and I'm buying some other 14" Santa Rosa that will have come out by then.
