    hello guys,

    I Recently ordered a ThinkPad T400 laptop.

On the underside of the laptop, on the Windows 7 authenticity sicker, it reads "Lenovo Singapore"

On another black sticker on the underside, it reads, "Manufactured for Lenovo Singapore Pte. Ltd."

The thing is, I'm a US customer and this laptop was obviously shipped to the US.

I wanted to ask if that is normal---that is, is it normal for US customers to receive these Lenovo Singapore laptops

    Thanks

Yes and I believe Lenovo is taking advantage of the US-Singapore FTA.

The delivery tracking info didn't mention anything about Singapore...

According to the tracking info, it was shipped straight from China to the US.

Interestingly enough, on the updated "Lenovo ThinkPad T400 Review," there is image of the laptop's underside, which also reads" Lenovo Singapore. Read here:

I'm wondering whether this has become standard practice.

all Lenovo thinkpad have a Singapore stickers on it, just like HP has singapore listed too... it is for corporate tax purposes, since Singapore requires no corporate or very low corporate taxes.

Yes, all Lenovo Thinkpads have a Singapore Windows Authenticity sticker. It's normal. The machines themselves are assembled in China.
