    Hello!

Was recently considering whether or not to buy a Slice battery for my T420, and when googling dd not find answers to the questions I had, ended up just ordering it anyway and so wanted to start this thread to assist anyone in the future.

    Some observations

    - When the T/Wx20 first came out, the slice battery released was named 27++, but when the T/Wx30 was released the battery was changed to be named 28++. Both seem interchangeable- My T420 is using the newer 28++.
    - The Slice battery can be used on its own i,e. without the main battery attached. Windows and Lenovo Power recognize it as a battery.
    - There are some who are obsessed with weight etc, but for the average adult the slice battery isn't a huge addition to the weight. I have a 6 slice which came with my T420, and a 9cell I purchased along with the just arrived Slice. As someone who does not like to be tied to a mains lead, I shall be using the slice and 9 cell together around the house/trips away so can go day(s) without charging.
    - The Slice battery does not have a normal power socket- so I can't just remove it and stick it on charge with the normal mains adapter which is a shame. Has to be either charged whilst connected to the laptop or with the separately available charger.

    Any questions, just ask.
