If you are on the home page, under the "ready to shop" is an education link. Under that page you can select under "student" student and alumni and then it's pretty straight foward...

When i purchased my lappy, I called them and said I was a student. All they wanted to know was which school I attended. That's it. No confirmation or anything. It got me almost $300 the purchase price

They don't ask online. A student is a studen is a student in any corner of the world... The question is will they allow you to place an order through the us website for bermuda... As mentioned by bigtrip, when I called them (I at first spoke to two reps who were plain uninformed-to put it politely- but the third rep was real helpfull and she quoted me a great discount.

Is there a way to get a greater discount by phone than online?

Lets put it like that. I want to purchase the T60 15.4 WXSGA. Whats the cheapest way to do so?

Unless you want to wait and chance and Easter Sale (debatable) I'd suggest configuring it online, getting a price, then ringing them up saying you've configured your thinkpad to price x, and wondered if they have any other discounts you could have applied.

    Doesn't hurt to ask!

Yes thank you very much for all the help.

However the problem is that I would be ordering from Bermuda. I will be in New York end of April. Do you know any companys that offer addresses where I can let them ship the notebook to?

when you access the lenovo website, what country do you use? If you have to use the us then you should not have a problem with having the lappy shipped to your home. Might even not have to pay any taxes.....

If that doesn't work you can have the lappy shipped to my house :D

thank you very much for calling! there are companies who offer a physical us address and bring the stuff to bermuda but they are ridiculously expensive like $30 for a book worth $5...

i might have to go with a laptop that i can buy in store and do without the thinkpad.

the HP does look good. The heat though does bother me a bit. I basically narrowed my choices down to this HP or the IBM WS T60P with an FireGL 5250 aka X1700 :)
