That's what I thought. About 10 minutes ago, the page wouldn't even display, as if it didn't exist. Now it's showing a "Lenovo apology page cannot be displayed". I wonder what they're updating. Thanks for the assurance, ethanhunt123.

Extremely annoyed at Lenovo right now.. So the lenovo download page went down in the worse time ever. I installed Winxp 64 yesterday to get some programs i really need to use up and running. The driver page is down so i can't get graphics or wireless lan drivers for it! The page is still down this morning but i really need to get this computer up and runnin to get work done today.

So i call Lenovo IBM SERV number hoping they can email me the wireless driver or something since i'm in deep trouble w/o the laptop up and running.

So some dude picks up the phone and asks me for my type and serial #. And i politely explained to him that i have no signal in the area and my cell phone only picks up in the middle of the street.

lenovo support guy: "i really can't do anything without a serial number and type"

ME: "Sorry i'm in the middle of the street and my laptop is in the house"

and i go about explaining to him that the driver page is down and i really need the drivers.

lenovo support guy: "i know that, they are just doing maintenance just check it again later." (in a really condescending tone)

ME: "yea but i really need those drivers is there a way you can email them to me or something?"

lenovo support guy: "just check back in an hour"
    "thanks"
    *click*

ME: "wait.. hello.. hello???.. omg he hanged up on me!"

Now did i do anything wrong here? I dun think i sounded like an ahole... but he sure did..

It's the weekend. IBM/Lenovo has done website maintenance on weekends for as long as they've had a website. Check back late Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Maybe mimicking Apple Computers' nonsensical tradition of rendering a website useless during updates.

He didn't do anything wrong. He was probably instructed not to do anything without the serial number.

Why didn't you just write it down and then call back?
