I could not be more impressed with Lenovo's support right now. Some of you may recall I posted a preliminary update in this thread on my Lenovo support experience:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=108278

I made the call about 3 PM Friday, was off the phone by 3:30. Today, Monday, I received the items sometime around noon. I got exactly the keyboard and battery I requested (39T0958 - made by NMB) and the Ultrabay Battery. As promised, they included return shipping materials for the defective battery (payed for and everything).

I give Lenovo support a huge two-thumbs up. Could not have been easier or more helpful.

I've never had to consult Lenovo for help, but it is definately promising to hear such fast response.

Same here, contacted them in Sweden about my power-brick which produced a quiet fizzling hi-frequent sound which was quite annoying, especially as it was placed less then 1 metre away from my bed, had a new one in my hand two days later.

Called the support while I was in Japan regarding my 6-cell battery which had to be replaced due to the recall, had a new one in my hand the day after.

Called them about a pack of rescue & recovery cd's while I was in Sweden - that actually took a while as it was shipped from Hungary (don't ask me why). Got nothing but good experiences with the ThinkPad support

It seems you either have terrible luck with them, or great luck. Luckily, I've not had to test out my own luck yet...

On Sunday March 4th I called around 11:00PM (Pacific) to notify them of the issues with my UltraBay Battery (holding 64% of its charge). Received my replacement battery today (March 7th) sometime in the morning (its 11:40AM), not sure exact time but had to be between 9:00AM and now.

Interesting thing, new battery has no IBM references anymore. If Lenovo can keep the Thinkpad's build quality and service its known for, my first Thinkpad, my z61m, certainly won't be the last.

PS It was shipped from Pennsylvania to San Diego, CA... so all the way across the country. Not bad, considering this wasn't a critical component.
PPS New battery is still a Sony so not hopeful this one is better. Man Sony needs to get their crap together.
