If you have an Lenovo T400 or T500, will you please tell me which screen you chose, who manufactured your screen, and then comment on the quality:

    1) Grain?
    2) Backlight bleed/light evenness
    3) Highlight and shadow detail
    4) Overall brightness/image quality

I would GREATLY appreciate a discussion on this.

You can find out who manufactured the screen using this program: http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

Great topic! It would be interesting to find out how the T400/T500 screens compare to the screens of the older Thinkpads in quality.

I have no desire to download some utility I won't use again, but here's what I can tell you regarding my T400 WXGA+ LED:
    (1) No grain, very smooth.
    (2) Backlight seems very even, no bleed I can discern.
    (3) Seems very good.
    (4) Brightness is fantastic - At 12 of 16 steps it's plenty bright, and at full brightness its TOO bright. Image quality is very good, albeit the display is very cool. I've not pulled out my gretag macbeth eye-one yet but will do so soon. I'm confident it will be good.

I've seen the T61 14.1" WXGA+ display and the T61 15.4" WSXGA+ (?) display and this LED screen blows both of them clean out of the water.

I was hoping I would see someone post this. I've been second-guessing myself for the past two days on my impulse buy. The only thing I stand to gain is a better screen.... which is worth any amount to me. Thanks!! :D

Lew - Thank you for your input! Would be curious as to your impressions after calibration. I would be calibrating mine too if I got it.

Someone is complaining about color shifting on two notebooks with supposedly the same screen so.. really interested in calibrated screens at this point.
