I'm running windows vista business on a lenovo t400 WPR and I have 4 gigs of ram. In system properties, it shows that I have 4 gigs of ram but when I check that in task manager it only shows 2.46 Gigs of ram. I wanted to know why is that and how can I solve it?

    That was fast!
I forgot to mention I do have a 32 bit windows and in task manager the total physical memory is 2.46. Now why is it showing 2.46 if the maximum is 3?
    Thanks.

its varies, its not the same for everyone, im assuming other devices are addressing the other memory, like a graphics card or etc.

you might want to get a 64bit OS.

assuming youre not talking about the cached physical memory, well i know it should be like 3068mb for total physical memory for 32 bit windows.

you can talk to customer service about it.
