Lenovo T420 Owner's Thread: SHIPPING INFO

Did anyone just check their order status? It's giving me this "If no ship date is given above, there may be an issue with your order. If you would like more information on the status, please call 866-426-0013." I tried calling the number and the system tells me that their call center is down. It seems like a system upgrade.

 

The site is working like a broken clock at the moment. Give it a couple of hours and see if it is working again.

 

I received the same status message on the webpage this morning for my T420s order. Called the number and was told that the package is being prepared for shipment.
But the message:

" If no ship date is given above, there may be an issue with your order. If you would like more information on the status, please call 866-426-0013."

is still there.
It isnt very comforting, since I already ordered upgrade RAM and SSD for the new notebook.

 

If they confirmed the status of your order over the phone, I wouldn't worry about anything.

 

I got the same thing on my T420s order (which was placed on March 29th). When I called in I was told that my order was still scheduled to ship "the week of April 8th" (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense as weeks do not begin on Friday anywhere I am aware of - the US uses Sunday and most of the rest of the world uses Sunday or Monday).

Some people have reported that they saw this message just before their order shipped. Others indicated that they saw it before the ship date was delayed. Hopefully I'm in the former category.

 

Mine order status page is still showing the same thing. I was also told it will be shipped the week of April 8th. My order was placed on 3/29/2011. Hopefully it's shipping out soon.

 

I'm singing the same song! Ordered 3/29/2011 and am being told it will ship the "Week of April 7th" which was my intial estimated delivery.

Needless to say I'm worried as I'm going home next weekend and was hoping my laptop would be there by then... if it ships the 7th it has 6ish business days and that should do the trick, but I may miss it otherwise.

 

I just talked to the support guy. He said "the week of April 8th" means from now to Friday - 8th, my order will be shipped out.

You can also goto the UPS site and Track by Reference number (putting in your order number). But you wouldn't see this until they actually ship it.

I ordered on 3/30 and it shipped out on monday. I think it depends on the options you choose and what they have available on hand.

 

Unfortunately I delayed mine by changing my order to add the fingerprint scanner.

It went from a "ships in 8 days" to "ships in 11 days", not to mention the fact that I placed the order on a Thursday, called back early Friday to change it, but it was Monday or Tuesday before they confirmed the change and processed it, adding several more days to my wait.

Mine now expects to ship on 4/19, up from 4/11 for my original order. In retrospect I wouldn't have changed the order if I'd known it would add 8 days to things.

 

Anyone know whether the Louisville customs inspectors would continue to work in the event of a Federal government shutdown?

 

I ordered T420s on the Lenovo's website. And it says the shipping date will be 04/13/11, however, I just contact with Lenovo and he said the shipping date will be within 4/25/2011. Is this normal?

 

My order status page doesn't show any ship date. I have to call in for it? They keep telling me it's within the week of 4/8.

 

What? That sucks!

After having a 4/19 ship date, I got notice this morning (4/7!) that my order has shipped! Wow, I guess at least for certain models they are able to get them out the door quickly.

Apparently the shipping tracking button will show up tomorrow so I can watch the painfully slow UPS Ground work its way to my home.

 

From 4/19 to 4/07? Nice

Wish the Edge e420s was available. It still says Coming Soon.

 

What system did you order?

 

My T420s shipped. When they say estimated ship date as 04/08/11, they were dead on.

My T420s too. Status says shipped today. No tracking number though.
Any ideas on how long before it is at my door step?
(Gotta factor in the UPSGround service).

 

Based on my previous experience....4 days.....

 

From my past 2 orders with Lenovo, they always shipped overnight or express even when it says UPS ground. This was when the T61 first came out. Not sure how it is now.

 

Hi. All. I found its quite handy, if you order shown invoiced and shipped you could just input the invoice # (NOT your order number) into ups tracking by reference number. Then you might be able to find your shipping status. I got mine. It said shipped on 07 Apr, and already arrived Canada and Carrier and Customs Released. It looks likely going to receive it soon. Cheers.

Mine was shipped on 4/8. Now stuck in Louisville.

Apparently it will be delivered on 4/14.

 

I believe our Thinkpads are together. LOL. My is also stuck in Louisville, Arrival Scan of 6:26AM.

My estimated delivery was showing 4/13 when it first shipped but now it doesn't show any estimated delivery.

 

HINT: The UPS system doesn't always have accurate tracking information. The route and times displayed are often the "expected" route and times. They aren't physical scans.

Don't believe me? Call UPS and ask where your machine is actually at. Ask for the last physical scan.

 

Still "In Process" for me. I canceled last Friday after they gave me a ship date at the end of the month. If it ships soon, so much the better. I guess the quickest way to get a Lenovo order to ship really is to cancel it!

 

Ordered April 7th, shipped April 11th, Arrival date April 15th

I order my T420s on 30 March and was given a ship date of 11 April but now the order status page shows nothing. I called and was said the system said it was "in the warehouse". I assume that means it's ready to ship but no notice yet. He said the system said it's ship date was now 25 April but that it would change and that date is system generated. Who the heck knows. If I hear nothing in the next day or two I'm calling again.

 

Seems like my T420s is waiting to clear customs at Louisville, KY. This whole time I thought it cleared already at Anchorage, AK.

How long does it take to clear customs?

 

Mine cleared in like 3 hours.

 

Does the E6410 modular bay fit in this?

 

I ordered mine today and the estimated ship date is 4/22/11. Does that mean it will arrive at my house then or is that when it will get shipped out.

 

Estimated ship date means that's when they think it will ship. They have no control over how long it takes to get delivered since it has to come though customs.

 

Finally - cleared customs last night and now out for delivery today in the DC Area. The whole tracking log is as follows:

Got my T420s. But i'm currently at work so I won't be able to see it until tonight.

 

Oh my GoD!!! I ordered the T420s on Apr 1. And the shipping date is keeping pushing back from 4/13, 4/25, and now its 5/08!!! What the hack is going on? Anyone experience this?

 

Suppose to get mine on the 15th, and now no date is shown on the UPS site. I will get however, the sleeve ontime but like you berlintzen, no one knows what is going on. Just a guess that a hange up for parts or they are behind schedual. :cry:

 

Ordered on 4/10 and shipped today, anyone know how long it takes for UPS to get it up and going in their tracking system? I tried putting the invoice number in, but no luck.

 

From a lot of personal experience I have found that it takes as much as 24 hours before UPS has the tracking information up and running from initial notification that your item has been shipped. It was like this with the last two Thinkpads I ordered.

My T420 shipped. Does anyone know why some Thinkpads ship from Mainland China while others ship from Hong Kong? Does this have any effect on delivery times (I can't see any expected delivery date listed)?
