So the touchpad stops working only in Firefox? Or for Windows as a whole?

Does anyone know solution to this?
Is it a hardware issue or Software / driver issue. or both?

    Did you update the driver?
And, are you using the touchpad or the trackpoint or both?
I remember this happening to myself, while I was learning how to use the trackpoint. My thumb always touched the touchpad, while using the trackpoint resulting in the pointer not moving.

I think i am using the latest driver from lenovo Website.
I use both at times. May be while pressing any key i accidentally touched the trackpoint and touchpad both at same time.
But after the pointer freeze trackpoint still works , only the touchpad freezes.
Is it normal behavior or is this a hardware issue?

Since you're using win server 2008, perhaps drivers are not fully compatible? Does lenovo have win server specific drivers?

    I think it's a driver issue.
I noticed that when the touchpad freezes , Syntpenh.exe ( for Ultranav ) utilty was taking 25 % of CPU.
So i think something is crashing that exe,
I uninstalled the Lenovo driver and installed the one from synaptics website.
I think it should work now. I will post the result in week or two.

I just got my T410 and have the same problem. The touchpad just stopped working while using firefox and one of the synaptics processes was using 25% cpu. I'm wondering if putting the laptop through a few sleep cycles caused it. I was just about to reinstall the touchpad drivers, so I'll see if that fixes it.

    I'm using Windows 7 Pro x64.

My T510 does the same thing, I came here looking for an answer, but it looks like nobody has found one yet. Time to call tech support.

It's a bug in Firefox ( some conflict with Ultranav)
I have Uninstalled the Ultranav Driver that comes from Lenovo.
I installed the synaptics driver from thier website and it's running fine with no issues.
So i would say you should uninstall the current driver and replace by synaptics driver.
