Help! I"m at a dilemma between the two options. The 15" comes out a bit more expensive at around $950ish compared to the x220 ($850) but I dont know which one to go for!

I hear that the IPS panel is nice but then again I heard great things about the FHD screen. I could use portability such as the x220 has to offer but then I love the bigger screen real estate.

Any owners can vouch for either one? I also have seen some threads on some people complaining about the x220's ips panel with ghosting/faint line/keyboard not flushed evenly and its fan being loud but I've not yet seen one complaint about the 15".

Right now I'm leaning towards the 15" with the FHD screen.

They're both fine displays, the best you'll get in modern Thinkpads. But, there's a huge difference between the T520 and X220 in terms of portability, and a small difference in battery life: how do these stack with your needs?

why not get the X220 and then an external U2410 or U2412 LCD, then you have the best of both world.

I've been using both. From what you wrote (and my subjective experience), I suggest you get the T520 with FHD.

Honestly, I wouldn't use price as a major factor in deciding between a 12.5" ultraportable and a 15.6" mainstream ThinkPad. Are you on the go alot? Do you prefer 1080p? As it's been stated above, there is a huge difference in portability.

I now have two TPs, W510 and X220. W510 for computation intense work and X220 for its portability.
