    The VGA monitor/ projector output on my 3 year old Lenovo T60 is not working after installing Windows 7. Lenovo support claims there is no Presentation Director available for Windows 7 * (I downloaded and tried Presentation Director v4.07 and that does not work).

    I have the latest hotkey drivers installed (vers2.23). Yet Fn+F7 does nothing - no flicker, no resolution change: absolutely nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Here are the specs:
    T60 T7600 Windows 7 Pro 15.4" WSXGA+ 3GB DDR2 ATI Mobility Radeon X1400** WD5000BEVT

    ** The Mobility Radeon X1400 has been moved to legacy support and ATI (nor Lenovo) provide Catalyst Control Center anymore for Windows 7.

    Do you have the system interface driver installed?

    Zaz,

    Yes I have the System Interface Driver installed (vers. 1.0) on my computer.

    Fn+Fx (x!=7) works (Fn+F2, F3, F6 etc).

    Pressing the windows key+P brings up a quick menu for connecting an external monitor/projector. The options are pretty self explanatory. If you have no luck there, it's likely a hardware problem. Either your T60 unfortunately, or the monitor cable/monitor.
    I'm running a T60 with Win7 just like you, and I think I'm using the Vista version of Catalyst Control Center on mine for my X1400. And all works just fine.
    But I did have zero luck hooking up a brand new projector to it the other week. Turns out it was sent with a defective cable. Fortunately, being a nerd, I had two different monitors in my dorm I could test it out with to be sure it was not my T60.

    Fyi, I also know for a fact I could connect to my 32" LCD TV no problem w/o the CCC and with the driver that was pulled in from Windows Update.

    Yes, I did try the Windows+P key. I get the options for various screen settings. However, the monitor says no signal found. I hooked up another laptop to the same monitor and that works - the monitor and cable are fine.

    I am converging with your idea that something in the hardware conked out. I extended my warranty last month for another 3 years. So, time to use that!

    Will keep the thread posted on what happens.

    Yeah, definitely sounds like a hardware issue to me.
    One thing you could try is in Device Manager, rolling back the graphics card driver to the previous version and restarting. I'd still put money on it being a hardware issue and it needing to be sent in, but it's something to try to ensure it's not a driver issue.

    I have extended On site warranty - technician showed up today with a new system board. Took about an hour to replace the system board and now it works!
