    Hello There,
I was wondering if anyone can help me here.I want to upgrade my T60p Lenovo laptop processor to a Intel duel core 6700 is this possible? If so what is the maximum size of processor I can upgrade my laptop to without encountering any overheating problems,Blowing my motherboard up or The new processor I will be trying to install.
Also I want to upgrade my hard drive to maybe 500 GB, Can I do this and how much will this cost? As you can probably tell I am trying to give my laptop a performance boost as I do not have the money to buy a new one.I will be Trying to Boost an already good laptop.Any other problems I might encounter & solutions to them will greatly be appreciated.

Any of the processors listed here will work: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T60

As for the hard drive, you have to be careful that what you buy is compatible with Lenovo's Active Protection System. Not all hard drives are. Perhaps someone else here knows more specifically what model drives to look for/avoid.

T7600 CPU is the maximum Socket M CPU you can put in.

Not all platter hdd supports the full range of Active Protection System Commands. But most of them will support move header away from platter when motion is sensed.

I don't even use Active Protection any more. It seemed like it slowed things down.

I'd go with a drive that has built-in motion sensing.
