    Hi!
I got a T61 today, and the first thing I am going to do (as usual) is a clean install of Windows Vista (Home Premium x64). This is my first Lenovo / IBM. So I wanted ask if there is any important drivers. I have downloaded what I think I am going to need. Is there anything I miss here ?

    Graphics driver?

If it's the same as the T500, which I assume it is, the RAM modules are under the palm rest. You have to remove some 4 screws or so to remove the palmrest and access them.

I had plan to use the same official driver for laptops from nvidia. Same one I use on my Qosmio, I left that one out, forgot to write in first post =/

Check out Stallen's guide. I followed this guide and my clean install for my T61p went great. This guide has all the info you need including which drivers to download.

    - Battery Maximiser (optional, but I recommend it)

Battery Maximiser is now call Thinkvantage Power Manager (application) and it looks like you have that already.

I dont think you can use the official one from nVidia. Ive tried that on my T61 and it fails. You need to download the Lenovo Quadro drivers.

Also, download the latest Intel Matrix Storage Drivers from here:

What does the Intel Matrix Storage accutaly do ?

BTW, When I select Quadro 140M form nVidia, I've linked to 186.81 wich is the lastest mobile set form nVidia... So I give 'em a try...

Im not too sure myself as Ive just migrated to a ThinkPad myself from Acer. But it supposed to properly support AHCI in Vista 64 Bit. Personally, I felt a noticable improvement after installing it on my T61 15.4" running Vista Ultimate 64 Bit.

I think you going to get the same error as I did when I tried to install on my T61.

Just run the IATA89ENU and after reboot, it will redetect and install your Hardrive.

Okay, the ''official'' nvidia driver didin't work. IMS detected my HDD again and installed. Vista wanted to restart, every thing is fine. I'm now going to try a driver from LV2G
