    Hello,

Whenever I move my laptop from one place to another, it crashes. Even if I move it steadily and avoid shaking, it still happens. I can still move the mouse around and click on stuff, but whenever I try to open anything, the OS freezes. I'm pretty sure it's from the hard drive because the HD light will always be off (not blinking like usual).

Should I be concerned enough to send it for repair (still under warranty) or is there anything I can do myself to fix this?

    Thanks

Wow, thats an odd problem.

Im guessing its the HDD as well. You could replace it yourself at your expese, or send it in to them for free, which i recommend. ;)

It case it is a problem with the HD, I’ll also recommend a backup.

Yeah, before you do anything else, please back up your hard drive. That sounds like a potential HDD failure waiting to happen.

    lol at you all

open your active protection system and change the suspend time to whatever you like. Apparently, yours it too long, thus making you think that there is something wrong. And in fact, your laptop protects your HDD too much.

you can also change the sensitivity of the active protection system so that it doesn't activate with the slight move around but waits for "bigger move"

5 bux say there's nothing wrong with your HDD

    cheers

I say to the OP: I think you should still back up your information just in case. Hopefully, Miro is correct. However, I wouldn't take any chances if I were you. Hard drives do a lot of weird things when something is wrong with them, and your problem falls into that category. I'd do what Miro has suggested, but I'd back the important things up first.

Yes. My first thought as well. Check the active protection. Try shutting it off and see if you get the same problems. If you don't then adjust the settings as desired.

And backing up is never a bad thing to do...
