Hi all...first and foremost i wanna thank the Administrator for approving my registration here that fast. I hope i could get a lot of information here.
I am a Technical Support Engineer for IBM project here in Singapore and as a Tech Support i should have a broader knowledge in resolving issues for our clients. We do not only support notebooks but also desktops, printers, scanners and PDAs and software and system application issues.
I decided to join in this forum because just this morning when i'm researching for one of my case about bluetooth device i got an answer, which is to "press FN + F5" (i want thank that guy for sharing his knowledge, sorry i forgot the name but his a Notebook consultant) and it works and the client is very happy and satisfied with the service i rendered to him. I honor you dude!![]()
And now i have another issue to resolve...hope anybody here could help me.
The same user is having this problem that when after he logged in to his window he will get a blue and blank screen and don't even see the desktop item and taskbar menu. Most of the Lenovo T61 that i handled has a problem like this. And until now i still cannot find a resolution as i don't have that enough time also to research.
The only way to see those desktop item and taskbar is to go to Task Manager and type in to the new task "explorer.exe" rather then rebooting the PC again. That is what i have suggested to the user for the time being while i find a resolution.
Since im just new and not so familiar to this notebook as it was just being released/issued to our clients, i am still studying and learning the features it has for me to support the clients.
Anybody can help me on this?
Your kind suggestion and resolution will be highly appreciated.
Thank you so much and may God bless you all.![]()
Sorry for the long post.

it seems as if his explorer.exe is not starting when the computer is starting up, either that or it's crashing when the computer boots. you could try manually adding in the startup program explorer.exe through the msconfig window and see if that works.

I assume its running XP and the taskbar does show up in safe mode....have a look at what MS support says.
Method1 ( Safe mode troubleshooting) should fix most occurences of this problem so try that first. If its a driver or program that is causing the issue then you can identify it and remove/reinstall said driver/program. -
Might be adware/spyware. Install the programs and boot into safe mode to run a scan with spybot, adaware se personal, windows defender, and an antivirus scan.

bluescreen normally came from hardware issue. u can check on the event log. which hardware exactly causing it. hopefully you can trace it also from there. or u can try also what arkit3kt told u. or if it's windows xp. don't forget to disable your turbo memory (if ur t61 came with it)
