I am running Vista Ultimate on a T61. I am having trouble turning of the display manually. I press the FN +F3 the screen goes black like I want, but a few seconds later it turns right back on. The only way for me shut off the display is to close the cover. Any thoughts or fixes? I also have the button set up right in the Power Manager.

    Thanks

Make sure you do not touch the touchpad, the trackpoint, or any keys.

Unplug anything connected to the USB also.

alternatively you can set your computer to not be woken up by the usb port. Can't remember how at the top of my head, I think it's in the USB properties in the device manager or something. Or google it or search this forum

Yup, you can set it so USB ports do not wake up your system via Device Manager.
