Hello, I became the proud and somewhat annoyed owner of a T61p yesterday. There is a problem though, whenever my computer is on a high-pitched beeping noise comes from the region around the trackpoint. It does this whether or not i'm typing nor when the hard drive is being accessed. All the time, every second, Beep! Beep! Beep!. I read on these forums that it might have somethigng to do with the power plans that I choose. No difference..... It does it nomatter what I set it to. Does anyone know of an easy solution to this problem or should I just send the laptop back; this beeping is driving me CRAZY!

Does it stop if you stress the CPU?

Nope it beeps nomatter how hard my computer is working.

EDIT: It seems that the beeping noise occurs for the first hour the laptop is turned on. After the first hour the beeping noise stops and the laptop is fine. I figured this out by leaving it sitting on my table doing nothing.
