I bought a T500 in October, 2008, and have been extremely disappointed with the quality of the display. It is a 15.4" WXGA screen with a default resolution of 1280 x 800 with a switchable graphics card.

I previously owned an IBM ThinkPad A22M, which I purchased back in 2001. This 7-year computer (15" XGA, 1024 X 768 resolution)provided a more vivid display than my new T500. Unfortunately, the colors on the T500 are washed out.

I tried adjusting the colors and contrast in the Control Panel, but no matter what I did, the display still looked faded. I finally sent the computer back to IBM for repairs but I got it back with a note saying that they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I use the computer primarily for simple letters and spreadsheets. My internet use is limited to searches or looking at photos of animals, mountains, rivers, etc. I also look at photos on ESPN and Sports Ilustrated. The problem is always the same - the colors are faded.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.
