I remember users had a bunch of issues with these when they were initially released. Are there still lingering issues or do these docks work as expected? Curious if somebody has been using these with multiple monitors for a while and can share some feedback.

    Thanks!

I actually came to this forum to get info on this exact topic. I am planning to get the W540 and ultra dock and use 4 external monitors alongside the laptop display. According to the ultra dock specs this shouldn't be a problem, but I can't find anyone that has tried this setup online to confirm. For more details, 2 of the external monitors are 2560x1600 which I will hook up to the ultra dock display ports. The other 2 external monitors are 1920x1200 which should be fine on the dvi or vga outputs I would think.
I don't think the choice in GPU on the W540 would make a difference in this case, since it will mainly depend on the ultra dock.
