Is this a factory pre-installed partition for ThinkpadWare recovery, etc?

    What does it do?

And is it safe to remove it?

    it's eating up about 6-7Gigs

it most probably is a recovery partition (donno because in have never used a lenovo). if u are an advanced user and doesnt stick to the factory recover(like most of us do), u can safely delete this partition. i have removed the recovery and media direct partition on my dell the day i got my hands on it
