Hey, anyone know if its possible to upgrade the single-core AMD Athlon Neo CPU in the first gen Lenovo Thinkpad X100e with the AMD Athlon Neo X2 L625 found in the newest version of the X100e?
Probably not possible since the CPU might be integrated. Either way here are the detailed specifications between the MV-40 (single-core) and L625 (dual-core):

It's soldered on. I'm sorry
This is VERY common in low power CPU. Something about giving more clearance to a CPU HSF in a small form factor.

Thanks for the answer though. -
all X series cpu is soldered onto the motherboard, to save on height space. So you got to choose carefully in terms of the cpu you choose, as CPU upgrade would involve replacing the CPU.

fixed
get one with a dual core one already in. The shop I work at has a single core model on display (which is mostly why I got an x100e in the frist place),and I can definetely notice the difference. The single core feels like an Atom, the Turion Neo feels like a Pentium Dual core
