Was looking at upcoming AMD Zen and with Intel so delayed on 10nm, Zen seems to be coming close to Intel Kaby lake in feature set as well as cpu performance. GPU on the AMD is actually better on the built in graphics. With AMD DASH it has an open source equivalent to Intel Vpro.
If AMD can get yields up, AMD Zen becomes very competitive for business class notebooks. Thinkpad E475 is using the A10 9600P. A T series with ZEN or even a new series above the E class would be a nice machine at a great pricepoint. Even if the CPU was a tad slower than Intel, it would make a great machine.

ThinkPads are firmly on the Intel side, I don“t think Lenovo plans to change that. E-Series is the only exception, because they are cheap.

HP has the new Elitebook 745 G4 which I found online sporting the latest AMD processors which is not out yet.
HP seems to be using AMD on high end machines. Before Zen, these machines were too expensive and performance was too weak. I guess some businesses wanted to save money with AMD so they must have sold some units.
Between AMD coming out with DASH and Intel Kaby Lake vPro models, next year should be more competitive for business class machines as both will have 14nm chips side by side for the first time due to delays of 10nm for Intel and a complete chip architecture redesign from AMD. -
The HP EliteBooks will be as good as you can get with AMD, Lenovo's firmly Intel except for the E series ThinkPad line, which I don't think you want.
Lenovo Thinkpad with AMD Zen?
