So i got the opportunity to have a private tour of the Lenovo Innovation Centre in Beijing Today. This is something that caught my eye as a Lenovo die hard, a ruggerised Lenovo laptop (Be still my heart). Wouldn't it be wonderful Lenovo release such machine to the general public and let us mere mortals play with such machines?

Oh man that thing looks sick.

Wonder what the specs/cost on it would be. Probably not worth the money..

These are made for the Chinese mining and military, price unknown. Apparently there is a special security chip inside this machine, which limited its export to other market. But now the security technology is already sold off to third party company, i guess the only thing that limits the availability of these machines in the open market is demand, which is what killed off the W70x/ds machines.

It is not a Think Product, so no trackpoint.

Vista? Did you mean "today" as in "February 2012"? Did you also mention "security"?

    ugly as hell.

besides, glue some plastic panels on top/bottom of a T61 and bolt some rubber corners, and you get yourself same thing...

Since when has a rugged laptop looked good? The point is to protect the laptop, appearances mean diddly :p

this laptop has been out in China for sometime already, it is not new. But most people haven't seen it, so i thought it maybe worthwhile sharing it.

I visited the Innovation Center on the 13th Feb 2012 if that is what you asking.

Security as in TPM type of security chip.
