Has anyone else experience the same? I called the support today and they said it is the battery that does not exist more. SO i have to cancel and re-order again. this seems strange to me. For information my order still says "in progress". Anyone with similar experience please share.
    Thanks

This is very strange.. What battery are we talking about? Did you order 4, 6, 9 cell regular or 9 cell slice?

Canceling an order one sided is 'not done' At least they could have contacted you to sort this out and offer you a different battery option.

I ordered the 6-cell battery + the extension (19hr battery) here is order:

ThinkPad X220 - 3 Yr Depot Topseller Warranty
    Intel Core i7-2620M Processor (2.7GHz, 4MB L3, 1333MHz FSB) USB 3.0
    Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64
12.5" Premium HD (1366x768) LED Backlit Display, Mobile Broadband Ready, 2x2 Antenna
    Intel® HD Graphics 3000
    4 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
    Fingerprint Reader
320 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
    ThinkPad Battery 29+ (6 cell)
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (2x2 AGN)
Integrated Wireless Wide Area Network upgradable
    4287 : 3 Year Depot Warranty - TopSeller

I ordered the 6 cell battery..He said the product I have ordered "comes" with the battery and it does not exist any more. That sounds strange to me too. It looks to me they are looking for some sort of excuse to cancel the order.

Those batteries are offered for all customers.....

" It looks to me they are looking for some sort of excuse to cancel the order"

If that were the case then more of us would get the cancel order as well, and I don't see anyone other than you jacklondon22. Must be some other reason.

I guess I am the first one or posssibly the first one to speak about it. I received the email today.

That is what they said is causing the order to be cancelled. There is possibly an issue with those extension batteries.

You would think they would still process that order and just discount the price of the slice. That is pretty odd... in my eyes at least.

Why would they want to lose out on that potential money from the order? It would take a phone call to remedy the situation on their part.

Yes that is what I asked the guy on the phone, Can't you send me the laptop without the extension battery? he said no they have to cancel and put in a new order. This is my first experience with Lenovo online, ( I had bad experiences through Ebay when they tell you the product in located in UK when actually it was shipped from China and took 4 weeks instead of 1 to arrive). I guess honesty is not the value #1 in Lenovo store.

I also got the same email, placed order around the some date using the 10% easter code.

Called up and advised by customer service due to slice being stopped but then restarted... bizzarre way to treat sales as just cancelling orders rather that giving option of standing the slice later, doesnt add up to usual earn max revenue goals.

Annoying but re- ordered inc the slice battery and decent discount thrown in so , touch wood, will arrive in a few weeks.

Thanks for the feedback, did they say how long it would it take this time? I have not re-ordred mine yet, but I need it by next week. Can't believe this way of doing business, specially that this is supposed to be a business line of their laptops.

Customer service guy said 3 ish weeks, email said 1-2 weeks. I asked if a express delivery method was available and was advised no.

No alternatives on the market as far as I could see so I decided have to just get on with it.

Upate as of 27th May on my order:
Lenovo UK - Ordered 18th of April - Order got canceled o because of Memory Part not being available- Reordred on the 28th nothing delivered yet. It has been more than 3 weeks and they still delaying the delivery date by at least one week because of "JAPAN Disastery delaying parts delivery"..It looks like they have been given the word, they all repeat the JAPAN word as soon as you ask about the delay. Anyone who has alternatives in UK for buying AVOID Lenovo onsite site called Digital Rivers

This is so bizarre. I ordered my x220 on Lenovo UK (run by Digital River) and I received the laptop 7 days (5 business days) later!

Petrov, what configuration did you order? I have ordered i7 version with the extra battery...I bought my M4 Crucial SSD and it is sitting on my desk waiting for the laptop to arrive...What is annoying is that they have no traget date whatsoever on the website and if you call them, depdending on who answers the call either get an estimation date which is wrong in my case or they just say it is in progress and they can not know. The only thing they all say is there has been delay in delivery because of the JAPAN earthquake. IT sounds like LIE to me and that is even more annoying thiking Lenovo runs its business by people who have dishonest practices

    My config was: i7/2gb (I ordered a 8gb kit separately)/320gb 7200rpm/IPS/6205/6cell/720p camera/fingerprint reader/integrated broadband.

update again: I got a call from Lenovo UK again saying that they are sorry and the slice battery is not available. So they have to cancel my order again and re-order a new one and they will give me a discount. Again waiting 3 more weeks, I think I have had enough...Now when I see others posting DOA and quality issues with the FAN, bleeding screen etc etc, I think I might have been lucky to skip this piece of @~!'@ laptop made in China called Lenovo and they should remove the thinkpad so that people know they are not buying IBM

Apparently Digital River are not able to modify an order. I had a similar problem when the 9 cell battery was out of stock. I asked to change it to a 6 cell but they said I could only cancel and reorder.
I reckon you could do well out of this, since they are offering you a discount on a replacement order with a different battery. Call the rep and push it hard.

I did it once, and was told the first issue was because they did not have the battery. Now they cancel the second one I called after two weeks of waiting and they said the delay is due to Japan Earthquake. It seems to me they lie like they breath, how can I trust them?

You were talking to a sales guy. Of course he lied, its his job to lie.
Fortunately the sales guys don't build your notebook.
