lenovo have just released a usb 3.0 port replicator based on the display-link 3900 which is capable of driving 2560x1600 monitors via displayport. It seem like they are using dvi but no mention of it driving 2560x1600 monitors, anyone plans on getting that?

Do you have a 27 or 30" LCD panel that supports 2560x1440 or higher?

U2711 baby. So that requires a Dual Link DVI or DP.

I look forward to hearing how the dock works with your U2711 since I have one, too. I'm not sure I care much about the dock. I think most of the coming ThinkPads I am interested in have mini DisplayPort so I will bypass any docks for video. The last thing I need is an expensive USB hub.

i just wanted the dock to drive my other 2 monitors to get 4 monitors setup on my X220 and X1.

T420 can do the 4 monitors.

So you think with the dock your X220 will drive four LCD panels? That should be interesting.

Shouldn't be an issue. You can use two single USB2.0 USB->DVI adapters already to drive two extra monitors for a total of 4. Hopefully the USB3 adapter has been performance than the USB2. When using the USB->DVI adapters, video isn't always great but non-CAD/Video work is flawless.
