When i switch my audio recording from the lenovo x61's built-in microphone to lenovo's webcam microphone, a very noticable background noise appears out of nowhere. The webcam is suppose to have a background noise cancellation feature, but instead, it creates background noise. Anyone who has a lenovo webcam have this experience? Or is it just my webcam? Please shed some light for me, i may have to return this for another one if it's only my webcam's fault.

For your convinence's sake, I've uploaded 2 videos to google video (without labelling lenovo) so you can take a look at the difference between the 2 mic.

Notice the annoying background noise from lenovo's usb webcam. I have a feeling it's not suppose to be like that, and would like someone to confirm this for me so that i can request for an exchange.

I researched a little and found this on youtube

Doesn't help me determine whether the webcam's mic is suppose to create background noise or not.

I believe the issue is with the webcam. Sometimes webcams aren't always that great with audio. It's not your laptop, it's the webcam. I plugged in a plain microphone into mine it sounds clear. My built in mic works good too.

So i've been fiddling with this webcam for the last 8 hours. I realize that this webcam doesn't filter out low frequency (low) volume that it emits itself, but instead captures them all. And I thought $80USD would get me something great... Now I know even a $10 logitech webcam can beat it. Darn, I just had my first bad experience with IBM.

But I'm still doubting that a webcam this new would emit such a high volume. I mean look at the laptop's mic! No background sound at all. This lenovo webcam's sound seemed equivalent to webcam made from 7 years ago.

Anyone have the exact same webcam? This one:

I researched, and couldn't find reviews that mentions about the background noise. I have a feeling that they're using lenovo laptop's mic to record (instead of the webcam's mic) but doesn't know it themselves. Either that or I have a defective webcam.
