    Lenovo UltraBay Graphics Card Compatibility..

    Hello Guys this is my first Post here..

    I'm Just Having a Little Doubt about the Lenovo Removable Graphics

    Y500 Removable Graphics GN36 | 0C22235 | Lenovo | (GB)

    I'm Having an Ideapad Z580 with i5 3rd Gen.Its a decent Machine..But my doubt is that As the Ultrabay removable graphics can be installed in the optical drive bay..Can i use it with my Notebook..I'm not sure about this because it is meant for Y series Notebooks...Any Help is really appreciated!!!!

    Graphic card ultrabays are compatible wit Y series laptops only because they have MXM ports in their ODD bay, while Z series do not.

    Won't work because it's only for the Y500.

    Also the Ultrabay connection is not MXM it's a proprietary PCIe x8 slot with a bunch of lines removed.
