I have the Y410 notebook with Vista that takes about 8 min to restart. I’ve unchecked all but my firewall & Virus protection in msconfig startup. I think the Lenovo VeriFace recognition might be the problem. As of now I’m not using it. I see an option to uninstall it but am leery to do that figuring that I might not be able to get it back if I want to use it in the future. Is there a way to disable it then enable it later?

You could try and disable it via msconfig.
