    Hi

I'm interested in getting a W510, and seeing that the FHD screens may not ever come out I may settle for the HD+ option instead. However, there are conflicting claims that the HD+ screen is only 60% color gamut, but another spec sheet claims 95% color gamut.

Is there anyone with the HD+ display option or with the knowledge to confirm this? It'd be really helpful.

    Thanks

I don't have one but I'm pretty positive it's not 95%. The FHD screen is about that, not the HD+. I would be interested to see what it is if someone has measured it.

Last time I checked, only the full HD (1920 by1080) had 95% color gamut and these panels were out of stock... careful, make sure that the full HD one definitely covers the 95% gamut cos unless its mentioned, theres a very high chance that it doen't.

Optionally, you can find some solidly configured 510s with these panels on ebay or quite possibly at other retailers as well.

Kindly please show me where the full hd 95% gamut screens are being sold for the T510?

I have not found any anywhere.

If you want the W510 with FHD, you can get it now! Only thing is, it'll be pre-configured without the color sensor option. I just purchased it and should get it this coming Tues!

Nope, it's not there. That's a 1600x900 screen as far as I can see. You really saw that 95% full gamut 1920x1080 option? It's ok, it's bound to come back. . . 6 months from now or so.

Didn't get it from Lenovo directly... Check out Laptop Authority. Confirmed with Lenovo that they are authorized dealers.

Well unfortunately, the w510 that laptop authority is listing is not the 1920x1080 screen.

It's there... do a search for 43192PU and it should turn up. If you still can't find it, give them a call and they should be able to help you. The guy I spoke to was really nice and knowledgeable in regards to the scarce supply of this machine, as well as its configuration. You can also wait until Tuesday when I get this in and verify whether or not it is indeed FHD. Check out the W510 Owners' Thread for a more detailed description of what I posted in regards to my order.

95% of which color space? Wide-gamut RGB v. Adobe RGB v. sRGB v. CMYK?

My T410s has 100% color gamut of the T410s color space (which is, admittedly, somewhat narrow).

On a related note, I was dissapointed to find out that apples contain 0% oranges.

    :D

    Very nice!

Just to be clear..... 95% Adobe RGB is the FHD panel.

I think I've only ever seen Lenovo refer to NTSC, but thats so similar to AdobeRGB that it'll only change a few percent points in the coverage.

I gladly stand corrected! Please do post back detailed impressions of the screen! We're all interested for sure as for this audience, the thing that holds Lenovo back is the quality of the screens.

Last note is, how reputable is this dealer? I saw 8 reviews on reseller ratings, all of which were positive. Are they a new company? What I'm really hoping for is that the availability of this laptop from one retailer means that others will soon follow suit.

The ratings while good, do not seem to be a good indicator on how reputable this dealer is since there aren't that many reviews on it. I guess that's something we'll find out in the upcoming days.

If you actually do a Google search on this particular notebook, there are a few others that carry this notebook with FHD. There's actually one site that I came across that showed you how much of a backorder they have for these units and how many they are expected to receive. Along that was a note that they expected to get these units in by the end of this month... not an exact date, but an estimate. So this could be another sign of what's to come soon.
