So I called Lenovo support about my power adapter making noise. They were really great and send out a new power adapter which I received the following day. When I spoke with Lenovo support, they mentioned that I do not need to return the old power adapter; however, when I received the new power adapter there was a UPS return shipping label. So my questions are:
1. Do I have to return the old power adapter?
2. If I don't return it, how is Lenovo going to charge me? During the call with support they never ask for my credit card info?

Might as well return it. Better safe then sorry. If it doesn't work, there is no point in keeping it around anyway. Perhaps Lenovo will remanufacture/refurb it and it can be put into good use again.

It's not a case of 'better be safe than sorry'. Call lenovo and tell them they contradicted themselves in what they said and what you received and you wanted to know how to proceed.

it's compnay environment policy I think, Lenovo accepts all its products back to be recycled.
