Hey fellow Thinkpad owners. I bought my first Lenovo laptop last year- the Thinkpad T410 with the standard 1 year warranty. I decided to extend my 1 year warranty to the 3 year option. My CC has been charged but I checked my warranty status online and it still says April 2011. Does Lenovo send something to your ship address about the warranty upgrade/extension?

Lenovo is poor about things like warranty. The date that describes when you warranty is over, is the final arbiter.
Frankly, I've never heard of anyone "extending warranty". I have purchased "post-warranty" from them, but I haven't had any reason to use it yet.

Erin, every single post I see from you is in blue, and it makes it harder to read. Please start posting like everyone else does.

It could be worse like green or orange, which are really annoying.
The warranty database is slow to update. I'd give it a few weeks to see if it updates. -

Not to redirect the thread, but can you extend your warranty or purchased post warranty service after the warranty has expired? I know Dell gives you a form you can fill or you can call them for a warranty extension.

True, but a out of warranty extension is more expensive. I believe it's around $170 for one year while a two year extension while under warranty is $120.

Of course they do. It's called ThinkPad Protection. On an older machine the warranty is usually not worth it in my opinion if you've got a modicum of technical ability. Most parts could be purchased for less than the warranty costs.

eBay is a click away.
