Lenovo's current site is one of the worst sites I have ever seen. It is incredibly difficult to simply drill down to the model you are interested in. It is almost frustrating enough to put me off ThinkPad entirely and finally move to a Mac. Luckily for Lenovo the engineers are better than the web designers so I am waiting to buy an x220.
Lenovo -- please give us a site that is at least somewhat functional!
-
You moving from Windows to Mac because of Lenovo website?
I'm moving from Mac to Lenovo btw. The X220 is very tempting, but might be ordering a W520. -
-
How so?
It's just
lenovo.com > Professional > ThinkPad > Series > Model.
EDIT: Yeah it would've been a lot more intuitive to make the box directly clickable. -
and BTW, I do agree that the website is weird.
-
I have to chime in that website needs work.
-
i agree with the OP, the site is frustrating. -
The site sucks. We complained about it when it changed but apparently nobody is taking notice of the community here. I feel sorry for user that go there the first time. Lenovo is likely losing business because of the poor design.
-
That's why you should shop for deals at their outlet website which is fine.
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yeah if you never been to Lenovo's site before or if you had No Script I can see how you get confused.
-
I admit even I have trouble navigating the site, it's not as inituitive to get the information you need compared to others such as Dell Business. The previous design was a lot more easier to navigate in my opinion.
-
Assuming you just stumbled upon the Lenovo site recently for the first time, at least you didn't have to experience the loud whisper "LENOVO!" at the beginning.
-
That was just fail.
They should definitely make a simpler / more functional version. -
Changing platforms due to a website? Thats a bit extreme. But I will agree with you that they really screwed the website up. I miss the old site dearly...
-
I have to agree. The Lenovo website is close to useless.

^^ I believe the OP is "waiting to buy an x220".
Also, I quite like the design of the current and previous Dell website. -

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Dell's Outlet is also supremely better than Lenovo or HP's.
-
if thinkpad name was not attach to this company nobody ever care about lenovo.
outlet (so many price & shutdown issues) or site is nogo (useless is mild dilute) -
The Lenovo website is the easiest computer manufacturer site for me to navigate and find information. I guess I think differently than other people.
My problem with the website is, it loads slow. -
lenovo > Professional > Thinkpad > Series (X/T/W/L/Edge) > Series (T420, etc) > Model
Its 2011, that's too many steps. I should be able to get to the X/T/etc series within within 1 click with like a drop down menu or something. -
Yes, there was a thread on this a few weeks ago about how terrible this new redesigned Lenovo Website is. VERY hard to navigate, and if you want to actually BUY a machine through that website, forget it ! You'll be there all day trying to figure out how to order one.
I say, go back to the old website, much easier to navigate. -
The site was not hard, but somewhat confusing for me the first time. So....
Let's hang the SOB's that created it.OK, a little extreme, but hope they read this thread and do something simple about it.
Remember the old saying.... KISS (Keep it simple stupid) -
I really don't like their new site design - all those panels sliding everywhere are annoying.
-
I really miss the drill-down setup when configuring a ThinkPad --the sidescroll effect is slower, and smaller.
As much as I like ThinkPads, it just adds to other small details that add up (from my point of view) to give an end-user the impression that Lenovo just isn't a very organized or consistent company. In the case of the website, it's something they could easily fix, but seeing as they've put this one live and into production, I don't know if that will happen.
The one positive --at least I can right-click-->"Open In New Tab" in a number of cases with FireFox. I used to do that to compare one ThinkPad to another, and get either a mirror of the same screen I already had, or a Lenovo website error, or a Javascript problem. Lenovo's site worked better on Internet Explorer, and not so well on Firefox, and it seems they have paid more attention to that. -

Hey, it's just 'part of the charm' of working with(against?) Lenovo
Does make one wonder how much Lenovo succeeds in spite of itself...
Lenovo Website -- Utterly Useless!
