I'm having an issue with sleep mode and hibernate mode. If I use either of them or allow my computer to automatically use them it freezes every time I come out of either mode.

The computer will come out of sleep, it will come out of hibernate BUT I'm locked up at the desktop. The mouse pointer will not work via either my touch pad or my actual bluetooth mouse. The Windows key will not pop up the start menu, nothing.

I have to hard restart to get it up and running again.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 which is what was included. I've tried fresh formatting and reinstalling from an OEM DVD twice, no luck there.

For my bios, I have a hacked 1.08 bios, all that was hacked was the white-list was removed so I can run my Intel Ultimate-N 6300 wireless network card.

Driver wise, I have the newest ATI pack installed for my video etc. I have the Lenovo auto update program installed and I let it download all my needed drivers, software etc other then I did NOT install the power manager that causes the skippy audio with the 1.08 bios.

    Thoughts?

I can think of possibly two things: Either it's the firmware, or your wireless adapter. There is a 1.12 hacked firmware circulating online. Try downloading that and seeing if that alleviates any of your sleep/resume issues. If the same thing is happening, I would imagine your Intel wireless card that may be at fault. I had similar locking issues when I installed an intel 6205N card, and had to remove it. I'm on an Atheros AR9382 card and it works flawlessly. There have been other experiencing such issues with Intel 6th generation wireless cards.

Maybe i should have included little more details on my post.. :)

I have 1.12, and i have 6200N. I just recently formatted my system, due to a new SSD.. I did not have this problem before the format.. I have the latest drivers for every hardware of my system.

Well, if that's the case, it's most likely the SSD. Which AHCI driver are you using?

I replaced it with the same SSD, just a different model. I used to have OCZ Vertex 2 120GB (64G Die Size), to OCZ Vertex 2 120GB (32G die size)..I am using Catalyst 11.6 Suite drivers.. SATA Driver Version 1.2.1.296.

Its you SSD. I'm having the EXACT same problem with an OCZ Agility 3 and I posted about it. I thought it was my RAM but its NOT my RAM its that flipping SSD.

If you go on to the OCZ forum you will see a tonne of people with issues. We are double stuffed because their poxy firmware update DOESNT work with our GPU. The screen is truncated.

I'm about to send mine back.

I bet you have both memory slots full? If I remove both my 4 gig sticks and revert back to the standard 2 gig that came with my machine in the slot furthest from the fan I don't get the sleep/hibernation crash issue. Try it!

I have not had a single issue with Hibernating/Sleeping until i got my SSD replaced. I have 8GB Memory, so both memory slots are full.. This is really really annoying.

The only difference between the SSD's i had a week ago and now is that, the die size of my current ssd is 32G compared to 64G.. It contains the same exact firmware that i had with the previous.. Something is fishy about this.

Yes i keep telling you its your OCZ. A simple test would be to change the SSD for the one you got with your laptop. It should work perfect, mine did. So that way you will know its your SSD. I'm sending mine back! Send yours back there is no resolve for this.

Hi I've tried this in device manager and still nothing. Am I missing a step? Can I ask what exactly you did? Thank you so much.

Did you deselect or select that option? By default, it is unchecked, I believe.

Yes, by default that box is unchecked. I was experimenting some of the options, and i have checked that box.. That is when i started to encounter issues. I unchecked it again, and Sleep/Hibernate works fine..

Well, if you have an SSD that option should be checked to get the best performance out of it.

I am having the same exact problems. I have a Microcenter branded SSD which uses the sandforce controller like the OCZ drives. They are known for screwing up power management. Luckily I have a spare Kingston V100 SSD (I forget what controller it uses). I will test it out and let you guys know if I see any improvement.

I'm running the Kingston now and so far so good. The bad news is my Windows hard drive score went from 7.4 to 6.9 (sandforce is faster) but I'll take the slower speed for stability. I will see how it does for a bit longer before I definitely know if the sandforce drive was at fault.

Ok I've been using my x120e a bit and suspending and waking several times. I am 99% sure the Sandforce SSD was causing my issues which sound identical to the OP. I have not had 1 failed sleep/wake yet where before 4 out of 5 times I would need to shutdown/cold boot after sleeping with the sandforce.

I'm having the exact same problem with my Corsair Force 3 on my X120e. The more I look around, I see that Intel does not seem to have this problem (because it doesn't use Sandforce). So do you think it would be advisable to get an Intel SSD?

Same issues here. I've tried 3 different BIOS versions, thinking it was the hacked BIOS or the wireless. No problem occurred until I installed this Corsair Force SSD. I swapped back to the original HD and everything seems to work fine. Now the questions is, are all the reboots and lockups worth the extra speed of the SSD...

The Samsung 470 is one of the best SSDs you can put into your X120e I'd say.
It is a reliable and bug-free SSD with the 2nd best power consumption charateristics after the kingston v+ 100. This topic shows: avoid ssds with sandforce controller.

    @Bandalo

The Corsair Force is using the bad Sandforce Controller.

Hey guys, Sorry am bumping an old thread, but any of you guys still facing problems with Sandforce controller based SSD with x120e ? I am planning an upgrade from Kingston V100 to corsair force 3.

just to chime in: I use a fairly humble Crucial 64gb C300 rev 0007 and never have an issue with it. been using it since the second day I had the x120e. sleeps/wakes fine, works fine.

I've been running an OCX Vertex 3 120GB SSD in my x120e since I bought it last December and have had no problems at all.
