The X200s is no longer there... Any one know why this is, as i'm thinking of getting one soon?
-
-
Weird. It is on the Canadian site.
-
Oh god! why is that? I would definitely buy it.
-
I wrote exactly that on the what i should buy section.
Weird. -
I wonder if this could have something to do with the pending addition of WiMAX? AKA Intel 5350. Just an idea
-
They might be phasing out the x61s any day now and will introduce the full line up of the X200s. In addition to Jackboot's comments, hopefully they will add the WWAN option plus Integrated camera. Those models would probably be the Thinkpad X200s 7466-3SG + 7469-5QP.
-
It will be back  With all those bells and whistles and with X200s Tech Specs...
-
Yeah I can't believe the X200s Tech Specs PDF isn't up yet! What's the problem?
-
on japan site,only x200s and x200, no x61s
-
I called the canadian lenovo to check the status of my order -- the rep said it has been canceled somehow. That's good because I wanted to cancel it anyway (I've never waited for a full month for a laptop in my life). What a crap company.
Anyway, my case might not be representative of other people. -
- Both WXGA+ and WXGA screens are available
- New processor option: SL9300 (LV, 1.60GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2 )
- WWAN is available, but only with WXGA screen
- UWB is available
But:
- No webcam (the only option under 'Camera' is 'none', even when selecting the WXGA screen)
- No Intel 5300, only 5100
- No 3-in-1 card reader, only 5-in-1
- No WiMax
- 4-cell battery is more expensive than 6-cell (what?)
Well, let's wait for Lenovo to update their US site and see what happens... -
It's back on the US site but I can't see any difference...
I can has LED with webcam please?
Just waiting for that one before placing my order. -
I wanted to buy X200s for its WXGA+ (1440x900) LCD and reasonable battery life with 4-cell battery.
Since I'm in UE, I cannot officially order x200s configured via lenovo.com. The problem is that European versions have all only WXGA (1280x800) LCD (with CCFL supposedly). There is therefore no substantial difference between x200 and x200s (aside of less power(full) CPU) and I do not see the point to offer them simultaneously. Furthermore, their P/N numbers are not present in tabook.
Heck! Gotta visit USA soon :confused2: -
Menos, you can check myus.com who can act as a proxy and forward your purchase to your country. Their service is rather expensive and you still have to pay the taxes when your computer arrives, but it's the only way I know of to have a CTO Thinkpad shipped to Europe. And it sure beats the models Lenovo is selling in Europe.
Otherwise, if you want a preconfigured X200s, Provantage is shipping to Europe for a very reasonnable fee (I think it's 40$ for France). -
Thanks for the info. I will notify my provider about Provantage.
-
Gee, whassup with Lenovo these days? Now you can't even configure your X200s, there are only two CTO configurations.
Don't get me wrong, they really do make great products, but they can't f***ing sell them with their crappy distribution network. If I were CEO of this company, I'd make some bloodshed and behead some people. Seriously. -

i've been thinking of buying X200s (with WXGA+ of course) in US but i'd more than likely have to pay duties which would cancel any price advantage, another thing is US keyboard has small Enter key (1-row) where as UK keyboard has large Enter (2-rows) and I like the latter one better;
i'll probably just wait till after Christmas anyway as i hope price will go down a little bit, by then they should (finally) begin to sell X200s around here... -
So will I. But not the price is the factor (to some extent :wink
in my case but official availability - I need an invoice, etc.
EDIT:
They are all back: with SSDs but without WWAN...
Lenovo X200s not on Lenovo site
