So I have a Lenovo x201 that I recently got, and the screen is cracked. Im looking around for a new screen, but so far prices are steep and its tough to get one. I found a lenovo X200S (last gen model w/ c2d and DDR3) that is for sale for under 400$, and comes with a 1440X900 resolution LED screen. My x201 has a 1280X800 LED, I was wondering If the higher res screen from the X200s will work in the X201, if anyone knows the answer that would be awesome. I haven't opened up my computer yet as I still have to use it with a cracked screen until I get a new screen, so if anyone has information on the connectors and stuff that would be awesome to post as well.
    thanks a lot!

Honestly, I'd sell the X201 and just use the X200s. The X200s has stellar battery life, and the C2D is plenty powerful for most anything you'd want to do on a subnotebook.

You can use the 1440x900 LCD, but you need to replace the whole LCD assembly. You can't swap just the screen. If you want to replace just the screen I would suggest getting the Hydis AFFS LCD, which is a drop in replacement on the X201, though you have to use the cable and inverter from the CFFL X200 screen. It's a much higher quality screen than either the standard or high resolutions screens offered on the X201 or X200s.

About the WXGA+ screen I would say the pixel density is quite high. Some do like it, but I think most would say it's too small. I'd at least try to check it out before you buy.

To provide a few comparisons... It's ~140 DPI, which is approximately the same as 1920x1080 in 15.6", and it's less dense than 1366x768 in 10.1", an option on some netbooks.

thanks for all the input. I have been doing hours of homework online just to see my options, hopefully the installation is easier then getting the part.

I have to agree with the others here, I would keep the x200 and then either sell the 201 or wait until you can get another scree for it on the cheap...
