    YouTube - ‪Lenovo X220 Laptop First impressions‬‏

I edited up a video of the unboxing and using it, the ports and all that kind of jazz. Some size comparisons with other laptops too, the Size of it is funny next to a netbook (not much bigger) and a Asus 17" one (teeny tiny!)

Had some people on here not sure about the resolution too so included some website photos to give an idea of viewable Area.

So far I'm loving the keyboard, it's everything I wanted and more for it. Intending it to be a Dev machine so eventually I'll be fully setup for that.

    The testing continues!

Thanks for the nice video review Superoach.

I also live in Australia but canceled my order for the X220 because of all the negative feedback in forums about the loud pulsing fan noise and throttling issue.

Do you have any problems with your X220 fan?

The fan noise in my machines fine, even when its got a fair bit going on. Not as quiet as a netbook but not much more either. I don't have any kind of whirring or high pitched noises. I'm still running on 1.12 as well!

Theres other videos in that youtube channel, one of them is about recording the iPad 2 and is stressful to the CPU, so that might be an average guage of the fan if you can hear it at all.

After the first reports of 1.17 (bios) fixing throttling, but seems to have average fan trigger values in it, I might see what the lenovo forum says and wait for the next update. I'd like to have the chance for a tad more battery life but im pretty greedy :)

Definately a recommended laptop though, and im extra happy I got this over the X1, mainly because of the awesome battery life.

    Hi Superroach,

What method did you use to buy your x220? Lenovo Australia is so expensive.

Hi Noobganster - The method I used was to go through priceusa. Maybe have a read up about them or ask on the shipping info thread (whirlpool may be a better aussie resource for it). They basicly ship to someone in the U.S, then have them ship it to you.
