Things I did to resolve this :

-reformatted the drive to factory settings with the recovery partition
    -tried the FN+f5 thing
    - installed access connections module in thinkpad toolbox
    - started bluetooth services from the services module
    - tried reinstalling the drivers but the drivers say that there is no BT module present.

this is on a brand new laptop I got recently, and yeah, I did order BT 3.0 with it.

    What's the problem?

    Is it disabled in BIOS?

Seems like an obvious question for technical support. That's what they are there for.

Is there a bluetooth light? If not, it doesn't have the module.

If it is there, is it green? If not, check the physical switch on the laptop for wireless radios.

ha, I asked this to my sales men, as I ran into the same thing ... Fn + F5 should bring up the pop up...and you have to enable bluetooth.

ALL I had installed was the hotkey stuff for lenovo, and the battery monitor.

The bluetooth module was loose and wasn't seated correctly on the connector.

I had to open the laptop and fix it myself.

Tried calling the tech support and they said I will need to send it back to them and they will order a new machine which would've taken another 20 days.

When I told them that you could just open this machine up and put in a bluetooth module, they refused to do that. duh..so went ahead and opened the machine up myself and seated the BT module in its place.

    Works fine now.

I went through the same sequence with Lenovo support. They wanted me to send it in and wait. That sounds like a lot of time so I said no thanks. I have drivers but they don't install because they don't find the device. It has worked fine, but has become intermittent, then stopped completely. Sounds like a loose connection to me. I don't go into laptops often. Can you tell me how to reconnect the BlueTooth hardware, assuming that is the problem? Is there a video on youtube? If I knew what I was looking for, I'd do it now. I've also got a Thinkpad X220.

    You're help would be appreciated.
