After trying the keyboard on Toshiba R835 and the new Sony S series I decided to go with Lenovo X220. The R835's keyboard is one of the worst ones that I have tried, and while the S series is a little better it's more expensive and less durable.

with discount and Memorial Day coupon and i5 2410M, Windows 7 HP, Premium IPS screen, 9 cell battery, and Intel N 6205 wireless the X220 cost $887 before tax.

I know this is not the best price since the 30% off deal just ended last week, but I'm not familar with the 'usual' discount percentage of the X220. Do you guys think this is a good price for the X220, or does Lenovo give out higher percentage discount(25% or 30%) quite often?

    :)

You can get all that for about 820 dollars before tax, I think. Try Visa or Mastercard discount or student discount if that applies.

I used the CorporatePerk discount, which is slightly cheaper than student discount. I will look up the Visa or Master discount :)

EDIT: The VISA discount come out to be $920 before tax :(

Mastercard discount is better than the Visa one, just FYI.

Good choice in getting the x220. I originally had my mind set on the Toshiba as well, but when I checked it out in the store it was terrible. Build quality felt cheap even though it was metal, and the keys were tiny. Next I checked out the Sony SB and the display just wouldn't cut it for me, not to mention its 5-6 hour battery life. Since I got the x220 though I never looked back. There isn't a thing I would change on this laptop.

Your configuration seems a little overpriced. Lenovo has frequent promotions, so you just have to wait a little while and see how the prices fluctuate. I got an i7, 4gb, ips, 9-cell for $950, and I felt pretty good until a week later when the same configuration was $850. You can definitely do better than what you posted now.
