Hey guys, so I just found out that these notebooks come with the 65W adapter, so when I tried to run the computer just on AC Adapter power alone, it would not work properly, something new I just discovered as well... So it actually underclocks the processor and keeps it at 1.2GHz, nothing more, nothing less. This really limits the processor.
So while I did some research, some people say the use of a 90W adapter solves the problem, not sure if it applies to this computer or not though, as the adapter draws enough power to the computer to run fully without the battery constantly plugged in. I want to conserve my battery as well for time to come.
Does the 90W adapter actually work on this laptop? Does it allow the computer to clock up without the battery?

Yes, most of the newer Thinkpads will limit their core clock when the battery is not inserted and a 65W adapter is connected. For the X220 and X230, a 90W adapter will allow for full clock speeds without battery. I'd suggest simply setting your battery charge thresholds and then leaving the battery in the laptop, however, unless you're not going to be using it for a long period of time.
