    Hello
I have a Lenovo X300 laptop running Windows Vista.
The laptop runs great but when I turn it on, it will only power up if the AC adapter is NOT plugged in. If the power is plugged in the Laptop will not power up as soon as I remove the AC adapter and hit the power button the laptop startup and runs fine. When the laptop is turned on I just plug in the AC adapter and everything is good.
The battery only last about 20-30 minutes without AC power once plugged in it runs great.
    Thanks

Will it power up with the AC adapter plugged in and the battery removed? If it does, you likely need a new battery.

    Thank you for the reply.
No, it will not power up as long as the AC adapter cord is plugged in, even with the battery removed.

Can you borrow a different PSU? I wonder whether the BIOS isn't sensing the PSU properly. This can happen if the pin in the centre of the power plug has broken off. Have a look.
