My Y450 is about 3 months old and I have not encountered a problem before now. It appears that my DVD drive will not read any discs inserted. Device manager reports that the device is working properly but it will still not read any discs. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Perhaps the laser on it went bad. Either way, you should get it repaired through warranty.
