From reading on the forms it looks like the Y470P has an MSATA port. Does anyone know if the system supports using an mSATA SSD as a cache drive as opposed to a straight up boot drive? What are the negatives if it does?
Am I missing a reason I would want to pay for the upgrade to the Y480? I am a student mainly interested in a decent 13-14" gaming rig with good battery life.

First of all only newest chipsets from Intel can use RST. Second - both older and newer Y series doesn't support RST - newer doesn't have proper chipset and older doesn't even have proper family.
Normally cache would be better because it would work on all apps not only those installed on SSD. But in our case we're left with only one case with some different variations. -
All right, although some of the newer Y480 computers must have the right chip-set because Lenovo will sell them pre-configured with a cache drive.
Any thoughts on the differences between the Y470P and Y480? -
From what I've seen all new Y series doesn't have right chipset. And I'm pretty sure Lenovo won't gives us updated models with right chipset because I think it's just more expensive.
At a glance Y480 looks more powerful.
