Did anyone mess around with the color settings to get their screen looking at least half decent? If so, can you tell me the exact settings and what programs you used?
Thanks.

If your screen model is AUO36ED and especially if you your computer is a Y50 FHD Touch with the AUO36ED panel, I have some calibration advice!
After a few days with my calibrated screen I have to say that it has made a world of difference to me. I actually really like looking at the display now, and the whole thing feels "warmer" and brighter.
If you are using a Y50 FHD Touch with the AUO36ED panel, I highly recommend installing the calibrated ICC colour profile from the following direct link (taken from Notebookcheck): ICC File (X-Rite i1Pro 2). The laptop in that review (Toshiba P50-A-11 2013) is different but has the same screen model as the AUO36ED Y50s. After calibrating colour I also recommend lowering colour brightness by 1 step and increasing saturation by 25 steps or so. The effects are subtle but slightly boosted "pop" for me without really ruining colour accuracy at all. Hope this helps someone else massively improve their display quality.

Thanks for sharing. I have the UHD version but I installed the colour profile anyways and did as you suggested. I'm just wondering what the ICC does because when I apply it, I don't see much of a difference. Thanks.

ICC colour profiles alter the way screens output colours and shades. Calibrated ICC profiles are made for particular screen models and in the best case for particular screens (since all screens output colours differently by default). As the profile I linked to was made for the AUO36ED panel, it probably won't be useful for you. I suggest figuring out what screen model you have, googling it, finding other laptops using the same display, and seeing if anyone has made an ICC profile for it. Anyways, the UHD Y50 is supposed to have pretty good colours to begin with apart from the brown yellows. For information on how to improve those (and for full ICC profile and calibration info) see the following thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/758153-y50-uhd-screen-calibration-thread.html

Does the non touch fhd displays use the same model panel as the touch ones? I just bought a y50 with the fhd display and every review I've watched/read has the screen as one of the only down sides to the laptop. Just wondering if I could use the same icc profile on mine.
