Hi guys, I recently purchased a lenovo y50 and it's been shutting off at random times. It is not overheating because I wasn't running any programs, it is not the battery because it's happened while plugged in, and it is not the ram because I ran Windows Ram Diagnostic Tool. The most recent time is when I woke it up from sleep and it crashed. When it crashes I hear a pop/click near the numpad area and the laptop shuts off. I also clean installed as well and then did a factory restore and it happened on both. My model is the i5 from Best Buy. Others have had this issue as well, I saw a review that complained of the same thing with an i7 model and one in the y50 owners thread with an i5 from newegg. Any ideas?

I've linked the other complaints below:

The pop/click sound is the sound of the power being cut from your HDD. Sounds like something is seriously wrong, perhaps a component is shorting out and causing the laptop to cut power as a safety measure. I hope your y50's still under warranty.

Probably best if you send it back for warranty coverage.
