I tried to get W7 on my Y400, worked but couldnt get wireless drivers so no internet could only use ethernet. Didnt know about these Windows 7 chinese drivers but i dont care to go to W7 again after getting W8 Pro x64 back up and running and everything all set up like i want. W8 in a sense is better than 7 when you download one of the numerous start menu clones then it becomes easier to navigate and you get to save a little bit of memory since W8 eats less of it

No i have not. I know that many people out there do not like windows 8 so this post was just some hope to them
    however
if you do decide to convert your laptop i would very much appreciate it if you kept us updated on the progress by this thread. if you were sucessful you might actualy help a lot of people fix their problems. i myself am going to try ubuntu on it soon just because of the fun.

I was going to attempt wi7 install but once I added startisback I think I will stick with win8. Appears faster and love pinch to zoom. Use it just like win7 with startisback. Also tried classic shell - like startisback better.

Has anyone had any issues while using 7? Have you tried using the ultrabay, perhaps even a second gpu?

So I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and have all the drivers installed except my second 650m is not seen in Device Manager or Nvidia tools. Has anyone figured out how to get this to show up and work? Thanks.
