    Hi guys

I just received my Y500 a few days ago and it's truly an excellent machine. I don't have the full HD as it is not available in South Africa, but I was told that if I extend it with my Samsung BX2450 that I would be able to use it in 1080p on the external monitor.

I'm extending the BX2450 with a HDMI cable, and when I run it in the laptop's 1366x768 then everything looks fine, but as soon as I set the resolution to 1920x1080 on the Samsung then random pixels appear green and flashing. I know this can't be the monitor, cable or even the GT650M because in 1440x900 everything appears fine.

I have downloaded the latest graphics drivers, but to no avail.

Please can anyone give me some advice on this, because this might very well be a dealbreaker for me if it doesn't work.

    Thanks!

That is really weird. I constantly use a HDMI cable to connect my Y500 to my Samsung F8000 TV. Are you sure the cable is okay..
