    Hello Everyone,

I'm in the market for my first gaming laptop, I'm not much of a gamer but I would like to play games here and there (like Arma 3,etc..). I was wondering what is the difference between the Y510p (59406636) on Amazon for $969.99 and the Y510P (59405673) on Lenovo website for $899.99? Which one should I get, or if you recommend another laptop please let me know around $1000?

Btw: The (59405673) on Lenovo website would I need to add the accessory Y510p Removable Graphics GT755M5 ($99.99) to have that 2nd graphics card or would it come with it?

Ps: Sorry if these are stupid questions I just don't want to mess up the most expensive laptop I ever bought.

I'm not going to directly answer the question as I haven't researched much about the Y510P, but I'm sure if you compare the tech specs between the amazon website and the models on the lenovo website you will be able to tell. And lenovo is also having a sale, which is probably why it's cheaper, but getting the actual product from lenovo can take forever, as they can take upwards of 3-4 weeks. Amazon is much faster and if you have amazon prime only 2 days :D.

But why wouldn't you go for the Y50 (newer model of the Y510P) instead?
The base model is on amazon:
    Amazon.com : Lenovo Y50 Laptop Computer - 59416755 - Black - 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700HQ / 8GB RAM / 15.6" FHD 1920x1080 Display / NVidia GeForce 860M 2GB / 1TB HDD + 8GB SSD / Dual Band Wireless AC / Windows 8.1 : Computers & Accessories

And it's only $1129 which is around your budget. It has better specs and much lighter.

I believe the model you are referencing on Amazon ( here) includes SLI, while the model you are referencing at Lenovo's site ( here) does not have SLI by default.

I agree with L1ght; if you are willing to spend a bit more for the Y50, it is a better model that is much lighter. Klick is the one selling the base model on Amazon right now (L1ght linked it above). If you PM Eryeal he can help you with getting it directly from them (rather than through Amazon, he's a rep for Klick) which will save you tax & I think they can give you a discount as well.

Alternatively, if you wanted to keep it sub-$1000, you can take a look at xoticpc.com specifically something like the Clevo W350

    XOTIC PC | Sager NP7358 (Clevo W350SS) - 15.6" Gaming Notebook

I thought about the Y50 but then by the time I get the games, etc.. it will add up quick $$$, so I decided on the y510P, I did not know it will might take that long to get it straight from Lenovo, I will get it from Amazon instead then and plus it will already include the SLI. Thank yall both for your help, I really appreciate it.

    Several things to compare

What graphics card(s) does each unit have? Are they single cards or SLI?

How much RAM does each unit have?

    What is the display resolution?

What size is the hard drive SSD?

What network card does each unit have?
